Enabling Decentralised Digital Twin Era in Existing
Research Infrastructures for Predictive, Preventive,
Personalised, and Participatory Health.
Vision
Revolutionise Health Paradigms
DTRIP4H project emerges as a momentous effort to revolutionise predictive, preventive, personalised, and participatory health paradigms. It starts a new initiative in Europe called “Decentralized Health Digital Twin Ecosystem consisting of Research Infrastructures”, and aims to resolve critical challenges around data harmonization, equitable access, and stringent privacy safeguards using Digital Twins.

Use Cases
7 Innovative Use Cases as Proof of Concept
We will develop 7 innovative proof of concept thematic health-related Use cases fulfilling the needs of scientists, SMEs, and industrial end users, particularly in health topics related to cancer treatment, drug development, human environmental exposome, precision treatment for schizophrenia and personalized medicine through Artificial Intelligence, Augmented/Virtual Reality empowered Digital Twins utilizing Decentralized health digital twin ecosystem, while adhering to FAIR data principles.

Use Cases
7 Innovative Use Cases as Proof of Concept
We will develop 7 innovative proof-of-concept health-related USE CASES to meet the needs of scientists, SMEs, and industrial users. These will focus on cancer treatment, drug development, environmental health, precision treatment for schizophrenia, and personalized medicine, using AI and Augmented/Virtual Reality-powered digital twins within a decentralized health digital twin ecosystem.

Objectives: STEP BY STEP
DTRIP4H Creates a Decentralised Digital Twin Environment (DDTE)

01
Assess Existing Initiatives
Assess the current knowledge of current initiatives and resources (such as models, datasets, data governance, methods, good practices, infrastructures, solutions, and services). Findings will be synthesized into needs and requirements for following DTRIP4H steps.
02
Investigate Stakeholder Needs

Investigate the needs of key stakeholders — including research infrastructures, industrial partners, scientific experts, and policy end-users — to design a Decentralized Digital Twin Environment (DDTE) and Digital Twin (DT) solutions for the health domain. Additionally, facilitate ongoing engagement and collaboration among these stakeholders.

03
Develop & Operate DDTE
Co-create and set into operation a Decentralized Digital Twin Environment that integrates research infrastructure assets and capabilities, enabling multiple users and organizations to model and simulate complex health-related phenomena in a compliant environment.

04
Demonstrate DT Solutions
Co-create and demonstrate proof of concept Digital Twin solutions empowered with Augmented/Virtual Reality that integrate the output of a predictive and explainable artificial intelligence algorithm for interactive visualisation utilizing a Decentralized Digital Twin Environment.

05
Create Growth Strategy
Create a learning pathway, business model, and commercial plan that support the creation, scalability, and long-term operation of the Decentralized Digital Twin Environment.

06
Disseminate & Engage
Promoting scientific advancement and transmission of project results to relevant stakeholders, favouring their adoption by developing communication, knowledge-sharing mechanisms, and synergies.
