Guiding Ethical Integrity: The Role of the Ethical Advisory Board

The Ethical Advisory Board will guide the project through regular ethical reviews, ensuring compliance with national and EU legal frameworks. Our flexible governance model allows us to address emerging ethical challenges, while maintaining transparent dialogue with stakeholders. Continuous monitoring and auditing will ensure that all activities uphold fairness, respect for individual rights, and societal values. By adhering to the FAIR principles and trustworthy AI guidelines, we will safeguard ethical practices, particularly regarding human tissue use, informed consent, and privacy protection.

Pasquale Fedele, Dr. Eng.

    Short Bio: Pasquale Fedele is a computer science engineer and serial entrepreneur working at the intersection of life sciences, artificial intelligence, and human–machine interaction. He is CEO of Xmetrix S.r.l., R&D advisor at Blu Pantheon S.r.l., and co-founder of MindAhead UG. He is the inventor of BrainControl AAC, a pioneering medical device that allows individuals with severe motor disabilities to control assistive technologies through thought alone, earning multiple international awards. He has also developed innovative technologies such as GestureSpeak and 4Habits, combining AI, neuroscience, and therapeutic applications. Since 2022, he has served on the board of AIxIA (Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence) and has been an industry advisor at Goldsmiths, University of London since 2018. In 2017, he was honored as a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.​

Gavrilovici, MD, PhD

Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Grigore T. Popa” in Iași, and at Sf. Maria Emergency Hospital for Children.

    Short Bio: Cristina Gavrilovici, MD, PhD. MA is Professor of Pediatrics in the  University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Grigore T. Popa, Iasi, Romania. She graduated the master studies in Bioethics from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. She holds a PhD degree and a Doctor Habilitatus title. She is the President of University Ethics Committe of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iasi, Romania and member in several Research ethics committees. She works as an expert in research ethics for the Ethics Sector of the European Commission since 2006. She is the author of 9 books and 47 books chapters. She published over 60 articles in the both bioethics and medicine domain.

Asreen Rostami, Dr.

Senior Researcher, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden

  • Main area(s) of expertise / interest:

    Human-Computer Interaction.

    Short Bio: Dr. Rostami is a leading Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) researcher at the RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and an affiliated researcher and lecturer at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences, Stockholm University. Her research explores the applications of XR and VR technologies, with particular emphasis on their ethical implications. As part of her work at RISE, she also leads the Human-Centred Cybersecurity research focus, where she examines the intersection of emerging technologies and user-centred security. Dr. Rostami also serves as the scientific lead on several national and international research projects in these domains, has received multiple awards in recognition of her contributions, and is a member of the steering committee for the ACM IMX conference.
